The OC Indian Women (OCIW) Group, situated in Southern California, boasts a robust membership of over 5000 women hailing from diverse backgrounds. This dynamic collective comprises mothers, homemakers, professionals, business owners, artists, and friends united in their commitment to support and uplift one another.
Within OCIW, members channel their inherent qualities of care, leadership, and assistance to nurture and fortify the organization. The group has uncovered invaluable individuals who, in turn, contribute to the organization's goals by offering leadership and mentorship to their fellow members.
Over time, OCIW has evolved into a social enterprise that not only provides opportunities for bonding and flourishing but also encourages the pursuit of collective and individual aspirations. Whether celebrating cultural festivities like Rakhi, Dusshera, Diwali, or Holi, or embracing global events like Cinco De Mayo, Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year, the women stand in solidarity, dressed in their best attire, fostering involvement on both macro and micro levels. For those who have ventured to new shores, the homesickness during joyous celebrations finds solace in the Desi slices of life served with love and the renowned Indian hospitality by OCIW's homegrown festive committee—an antidote for many pensive hearts. Additionally, annual events such as International Women’s Day Celebration inspire women to rejoice in womanhood, sisterhood, and diversity together.
Initially founded to empower those aspiring to soar in their adopted land, OCIW has also successfully launched and supported numerous entrepreneurs. Monthly meetups and daily social media activities showcase the latent talents and expertise of members. The sisterhood grows stronger through mutual encouragement, as these women expertly manage their households while simultaneously navigating active professional and social lives.
As the organization continues to build bridges, numerous blueprints for the future are underway to ensure the success and prosperity of every OC Indian Woman, as they succeed and thrive together as Indian Community.
